I grew up along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River in a town called Rock Island. It was there that I met my first encased coin, which had been given to me by an automobile dealer. I have to say, since then I’ve never met an encased coin I didn’t like.
From my childish point-of-view, one could never get enough good luck and so the encased penny was a constant companion of mine for many years. Thereafter, each time I met a new encased penny I marveled at its individuality and story. I always wondered who were the people who made this lucky penny?
The wonderful thing about encased coins is that they are really miniature works of art that freezes a bit of history. Their words and symbols promise good luck and the advertising or personal information they carry is a time capsule.
I’ve had the good fortune to work with Bryan G. Ryker in creating some of these encased coins as advertising for my business. I do hope you will enjoy viewing them and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
